Accommodations: Accommodations are comprised of a collection of bungalows and villas set on the hillsides and bluffs. Bungalows are the most basic, but are still exceedingly spacious, measuring over 800-square-feet. The 1- and 2-bedroom bungalow suites are twice as spacious. All have private terraces overlooking the ocean or golf course, high wood-beamed ceilings, fireplaces, deep-soaking tubs and walk-in showers, plush bedding, bathrobes, plasma-screen TVs, phones, safes, and all the other basics. Villas have a similar roster of amenities, but are larger, available in 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom configurations. Guests in the villas have access to an exclusive pool and clubhouse, as well as personal butlers, concierges, housekeepers, and coordinators.

Dining & Entertainment: All 5 restaurants and cafes have alfresco seating, and the surrounding landscape is the perfect accompaniment to any meal. Andrea is the signature restaurant, specializing in the cuisine of Northern Italy. Caffe and Caffe II are a pair of espresso bars, the latter located in the golf clubhouse. Pelican Grill showcases the best in costal cuisine, while the display kitchen showcases the talents of the cooking staff; the outdoor terrace is climate controlled, and the lounge stays open late. Coliseum Grill is set on the pool terrace, and has a dining room as well. Nearby, you'll find designer boutiques and department stores, numerous museums and theaters.

Recreation: There are 3 pools, including one exclusively for villa guests and a kids pool, but the Coliseum pool, which is laid with over a million mosaic tiles, is the best, and the resorts social hub. Two 18-hole golf courses, both recently re-designed by Tom Fazio, stretch along a rugged section of coastline and provide a dramatic backdrop to challenging shots. Personal treatment plans at the opulent, 23,000-square-foot spa optimize your well-being, as do herbal saunas, a fitness center, and Roman-inspired soaking pools. Crystal Cove Park and Irvine Ranch Land Reserve have thousands of acres of protected land for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and swimming.
