Resort Description

Upscale, comfortable rooms with a view & a superb range of activities thrill families, honeymooners, & other couples at this All-Inclusive. Enjoy water sports, dining, nightlife, & more.

Taking its name from the turtles that nest on the powdery beach, this All-Inclusive resort on the south coast of the island is suffused with an air of sophistication.

Each of the 160-plus suites has a balcony or patio with an ocean, pool, or garden view. The garden, by the way, includes hibiscus, hydrangea, and trees that are more than 100 years old. All suites have a king- or queen-size bed or 2 twin beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a mini-fridge, satellite TV, an in-room safe, a private bath with a shower, a hairdryer, and an iron and an ironing board. Most of the suites have sofa beds, too. The 1-bedroom suites include a coffee maker and feather beds.

The 3 restaurants give you a distinct choice when it's time to eat. You know you're in Chelonia by the polished stone floors, 3-story-high palm trees, and waterfall. The dining is fine, and the international cuisine is creative. Asiago's has an a la carte menu of Italian dishes and seats only those ages 12 and over. Both restaurants have a dress code. For casual beachfront dining, it has to be the Waterfront Restaurant with a Caribbean-inspired menu and, on Saturdays, a barbecue buffet. You also can dine at the resort's sibling hotels. An open-air sports bar is the favored spot for breakfast, and most evenings are filled with the live rhythms of calypso, jazz, and other music.

Of the 3 freshwater swimming pools, 1 is designed for children. The Tommy Turtle Kids Club engages those ages 3-11 in treasure hunts, painting, crafts, and games. Older kids gravitate to the high-tech video arcade. A wide array of water sports activities is meant to thrill: catamaran sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, boogie boarding, and snorkeling. Take a complimentary diving lesson in the pool. After a session in the fitness center and a set on the floodlit tennis courts, relax in the Jacuzzi. The animated St. Lawrence Gap, with its bars, restaurants, and nightlife, is within walking distance.

One of the finest All-Inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
